Merit Badge Summary Improvements

We have made some changes recently to our Merit Badge Summary page.  The main change is with our merit badge listing.  In the past, the list only included the earned merit badges for the selected scout.  Now we have included the partial merit badges as well.

Now with one glance you can see the progress of the scout as it relates to merit badges.  From this same page, you can quickly change the Date Completed or update the Comments field.  The Comments field can be used to include information regarding the requirements yet to be completed.

In addition we are including the date the merit badge was recorded.  Now you can see which leader made the entry and when they did it.

Don’t forget to click on the View by Rank tab to see a detailed view of merit badges earned and how they relate to each rank.

  1. Nice additions. It would be great if there were a comment field for scouts under ranks, a “last updated” field for rank, and a tracking of who updated which requirements for advancements.

  2. Is there a way to move where the merit badges are posted? I have a scout who earned the Communications merit badge and it was placed in his Star rank even though he has already earned the necessary 4 required merit badges for this rank. I need to have it moved to Life rank. Can I do that? How do I do that?

  3. It would be great to see a the individual requirement for merit badge listed similar to rank so you can put in the date a requirement was completed and see what needs to be completed. The comment section is wonderful but it would be nice to see the individual requirment so we don’t have to look them up all the time.

    1. Yes, I agree. I just recently started using eTrailToEagle after having used Troopmaster for years. I like how eTrailToEagle lets all of the leaders enter info, instead of just me. (I’m the advancement leader.) But I really liked how Troopmaster let you click on the requirements completed for the partial merit badges. Then it would list what remaining requirements were needed.
